Arriving
You can get there by air, train or car.
Paris is deserved by two major airports, six train stations and highways.
Transportation Network
Paris has a very efficient and huge public transport system with 14 metro lines, 5 RER lines (suburban services that pass through the city center) and lots of buses.
Laws
France is a country where individual liberty means o lot. But of course laws put limits you'd better know before playing around.
Disabled travelers
Paris is not an easy city for disabled travelers. Of course, historic districts are difficult to adapt, but also very few efforts are made by autorities even in the new facilities. The things seem to change a little bit nowadays, but it is still a very slow move.
Taxis
When it come to taxis, parisian people seem hopeless. The bad behavior of some of them made visitors to hate all french. The are rare in weekends, they often choose not to stop when you wave at them, they are expensive and often drive nervously. Well... They often are not the best way to start a good trip in France, but some of them are so kind that they'll make you forget all the others.
Money
Paris is an expensive city, especially if you stay in tourist tracks. There is always a way to know the prices before going in a shop. Price differences can be huge between different places. Stay vigilent and you'll save a lot of money.
Duty-Free
Non EU resident of more than 15 year old can be refunded of TVA. But it is not a simple thing to do.
Velib
The parisian bicycle short term rental system is a huge success with its . It is easy, unexpensive, usefull and fun but not open to all visitors: you'll need a credit card with chip!
Cinema
Paris is certainly the city in the world with the biggest number of movie theaters. There are some for all tastes and in all sizes. English speaking visitors will find o huge number of screens with films in englsih with french subtitles. Complete cinema programs, but also all other visible shows and exhibitions in Paris can be found in one of the three guides relased each Wednesday at a very low price : "L'Officiel des spectacles" ou "Le Pariscope". A huge website about cinema, allocine, lists all the programs of France. Note that the MK2 Beaubourg theater always shows one or more gay or gay-friendly movies. No doubt that the very close Marais has something to do with it.
